We were Destroyer Bravo 1st Bn 5th Arty 105mm towed and air mobile. Go to my FB page for several hundred photos posted by us. We went up Highway 13. I remember a one magazine fire fight right outside our battery. One guy survived and did not know where he was and had to be rescued. Most photos are from 68-69.

"This a very rambling comment, so I apologize in advance to whoever reads this.(posting in two comments due to the 1000 character limit). Thanks for maintaining this website for the future generations! I'm just seventeen years old, so most of you guys are going to be magnitudes older than me. For most of my life, Vietnam didn't truly feel "real" to me. It was halfway across the world and ended thirty years before my birth. There's that one quote by someone I'm not going to name, which goes ""The death of one person is a tragedy, the death of a million is a statistic,"" Which is all too true. Everyone knows that 58 thousand American died in Vietnam, but when you lump them all together nobody really stops to think that each of those men had lives as complex and vivid as ours, and each of them had dreams they would never fulfill, friends they would never see again, etc. (part 1/2)"
